I cut my 2 maxijet 1200's and put them on some timers. WOW, what a great wave maker. Cheap too. My timers go on for 15 min and off for 15 min. They are almost opposite timed so I get a pretty "wave" going.
Thanks again.

ya i know that but its kinda different. they arent confined in a small space with powerheads blowing back and forth

don't you think taking them out of the ocean and putting them in a glass box is annoying?

Saw off the output spout of the Maxi-jets.I believe Golfish had a post with pictures that showed what it was suppose to look like.

ok, i'll have to do a search, that's interesting. the purpose would be to broaden the flow of current coming out, so it's not so pinpointed, right?

Sort of, it creates a changing direction of flow on start-up. It requires a timer or wavemaker to work, something that shuts the powerhead on and off. Everytime the powerhead kicks on it will flow either left or right depending on which way the impeller spins, its sort of a gamble between which way it pushes the water, meaning it won't change direction every single time it kicks on.
