The 72 Died, but the 75 Has Risen

So my 72 bowfront sprung a giant leak (a week after resealing), so rather than deal with that mess yet again, I went out and bought a 75 gallon. Everything has made it thus far except for a cleaner shrimp. I've included some pictures of the mess I had to deal with in my apartment and how the 75 has turned out. I still need a background for it, but other than that I think its pretty good to go. Let me know what you think about the aquascape, its a little different than what I've tried before. Thanks!

Looks like it is going to be a nice tank. Sorry to hear about the trouble with the other one.
No background?

Wow, looking pretty good so far, good luck with it. If I were you, I would've spray painted before setting it up, but that's just me. What are you going to do about the background. One more thing...are you a guy or girl?

Thanks for the comments everyone. I honestly didn't have anywhere around here to paint the background being that my college apartment is a box lol. There is a small community "yard" area I could have done it, but being that the max size allowed in this complex is a 40, I didn't think it was such a good idea.
I'll just sling a cheap black background on for a while.

what floor are you on? my tub of change water managed to fall and some got through to the apartment below

First floor man. I would never attempt something this size on any of the other floors, considering how cheap they build apartments around here. I'll put it to you this way though, if I was on the third floor, it probably would have made it to the first lol.

One your new tank looks amazing, my question what kind of filter are you using hows it set up? would love to know. looks nice and clean and water looks clean.

Thanks man. I'm only using a Magnum 350 canister filter. Eventually I hope to upgrade to an overflow box with a sump....but my theory is if it isn't broke, don't fix it. Like I found with my 72 tank disaster, the less you have, the less there is that can break or cause issues. The 350 is pretty versatile as you can run carbon filtration, but you can also switch that out with a filter that takes haze out of the water. As long as you have plenty of live rock, a good cleanup crew, and keep your canister cleaned, I don't think it is a necessity to do much more.

Metcalf VT...
For now everything is being stored in my apartment. Over the next break I have, I'm going to get somebody to look at the tank to let me know where the water is coming from as I haven't been able to pinpoint the exact place. If it is fixable I will probably get somebody to professionally reseal it.

I'm setting up my 55gallon and plane on putting 50lbs of rock most likely one of the reef packages here on SWF.com and about 20lbs of live sand and 20lbs of dry sand. After seeing your tank I'm thinking of getting a filter like that or maybe that filter along with a inline heater and id be set.
So you dont have any skimmer? seems like a big no no to most the members on this forum.

I have about 130-150lbs of rock in my tank right now - IMO its the best filtratin that you can have. I do have a skimmer, but it won't fit with my new glass tops, so I'm going to have the glass cut. You'll find mixed reviews on skimmers. Some swear by them, some don't. A lot of people wait until around 6 months to put one on after starting a tank.

If you ever want to get rid of the canopy, feel free to shoot me a PM. I am not too far away from you
