The Age Old Question

How long do fish usually live? Would it be better to buy a juvenile instead of an adult? I dont want to spend $50+ on a fish and have him decide he's gonna kick the bucket 3 months after I take him home. Just wondering

I think each fish has it's own lifespan. I've heard of a clownfish living for 12 years but they probably live longer than that. Saltwater fish do live a lot longer than freshwater though.
