The battle for survival: crab vs trigger

i went to the beach today and caught some crabs hoping to make money by selling them to my lfs. when i got back to the lfs they said they couldnt sell anything local. so much to my regret they put them in the predator reef and instantly the fish darted out, but to my suprise they all survived, then the trigger came out. i though "oh crud theyre all screwed." then the crabs fended off all the triggers and such, the smallest one only being the size of a cheerio against 2 volitian lionfish a grouper and a niger trigger all being atleast 8 in. so is this brain vs braun or stupidity vs cunning?

The Trigger might eventually get them but nigers are the most peaceful. The lion and the grouper will be having a very bad day if they eat them because they wont be able to digest a shell.

my lion eats crabs all the time, though they are tiny.
I drop them in his Q-tank when im un-hitchhiking live rock, and there all gone by the next day.
Though if they have a rock to "hold" onto there very hard for the lions get since suction is there main method of capture...as well as groupers.

if your trigger is like 9" long he's prob gonna get them, Only trigger that I know of that might leave them alone is a blue throat, they are widely considered the only reef safe trigger, But I have never had one, just what I have read on them.
I would do your homework!
Hope this helps!
