If I were u, I would get the Nano cube, made by NANO CUBE (LOL), in the 24 gallon deluxe version, fan cooled. It will cost u about 170 bucks. Dont try to save money by getting the 24 gallon JBJ nano cube. THEY SUCK! They are known for cracking and their filters are evil little fish traps. Its not worth the few bucks you'll save. One thing u gotta learn with this hobby is that u should NEVER skimp on equipment...or u'll regret it, and most likely end up paying more than u would have in the first place if u would have spent the extra cash on better equipment. Just my 2 cents.

I've just bought (and had delivered) a JBJ 24Gal DX. I did a lot of research on the subject before buying and found that they DID have a design problem with their tanks and alas, there was cracking. This design issue has been dealt with and remedied (thicker glass; new filter perameters; snazzy cooling fans). One thing that attracted this particular tank to me was the ability to "supe" it up with DIY lighting and alternative filtration; think "Pimp My Tank".
The bottom line is: I've heard more people happy with their tanks than upset, hense their popularity among the enthusiasts. If you decide on a JBJ, make sure you get the newest model, to ensure you get a better built tank.

denny,
from my understanding the new JBJ 24g that have "supposedly" fixed the cracking problem with thicker glass, have not been released yet. this is just what i have been told, i maybe wrong.

After reading those tragic posts about cracked tanks, I wrote (the place that sold it to me) and demanded to know what was going on. I just got their response and they admit there was a problem and that it has been fixed. They also told me that the tank I got was the new and improved model - there is a "born on" date on the back so you know. No more of the new ones will be available until December (and they said they were sold out of those as well). This little tank seems fairly sturdy. There aren't any "scratches" in the corner that the other posts highlight as a tell-tale sign.
Here's the deal: the seller's agent has given me written confirmation that there was a problem - which is rare. They say its fixed. The tank I have seems quality. If it breaks, I have their admission and a law degree
(and a wet office  ). I have confidence in the tank, but keep your fingers crossed anyway
