Can anyone recommend the best test kits and submersible pumps for a reef aquarium? I'm planning on a 180 gal+ system.

You should post this in the equipment section. Mag makes a good submersable pump, IMO stay away from rio's I have a 21oo running my skimmer and sometimes it won't start after the power is shut off, they are know for doing that. I have been useing the fastest and Seatest kits for years and have never had a problem. Good Luck
