the death of a condy

Heres the deal I added powerheads to my tank, 72 gallon bow front and for whatever reason my condy decided to move and somehow got sucked up into the power head. My powerheads are all the way at the top of the tank. What can I do to prevent this from happening again. I do have guards on my ph's but he still got sucked up in it. I wanted to keep a cheap condy (5 bucks) a few months before I tried a nicer one. Any thoughts?

you can put sponge filters on the PH intakes. It cuts the flow a little bit but would prevent anything from getting sucked in.

He was a cool looking condi. He was white with purple tips. I was worried about putting in the sponge filters because they will hold waste. Should I be worried about that or just put the filters on?

I guess you would just have to rinse them off. I have a couple low flow PH's and my anemone hasnt gotten sucked into them. guess i've just gotten lucky
