The dreaded brown scuz!

Ok, I have a 75g fowlr tank. Tank habitants are: Picasso trigger, niger trigger, sailfin tang (gorgeous!) yello tang (I think on his way out of this world...starting to shrivel, still eating but not looking happy. No sign of ich or anything..sigh) a moray eel and a domino damsel.
I still am getting lots of brown scuz growing on the sides after water changes (I do it about every other week). Is there any kind of clean up crew that can go in here with my friends? I know triggers will eat some of them..shrimp etc, but what could be added to help the scuz? I may possibly be overloaded at this time. Just curious what everyone has to say.

Sounds kinda like diatoms. How long you been set up and what are your readings (esp. phosphates and silicates). They might be causeing you problem. With you tank you have to fix the problem since inverts are food.

I have been set up for almost 18 months now. ph is 8.2 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, 20 trates...I have not checked the others though...I will have to do that.
So you're saying no "cleaners" will do in that tank? I'm still a bit lost about the clean up crew and what kinds of tanks they can go in.

The reason why you can't have cleaning critters is because they will be attacked by your triggers. If you only didn't have triggers, you can get variety of snails (Astrea, Trochus, Turbo) which eat diatom. Since that's not an option for you, I'll probably try to get rid of silicates and phosphates in the water.

Thats it. The triggers make a clean up crew food. Fixing the source (probably phosphates or silicates) is your best option.
