The dreaded ick magnet.

So its time to put my money where my mouth is. I believe that if you do not have ick in your DT you do not have ick. I have purchased two hippo tangs one being a yellow belly. They are in my established 20g QT/HT (tang police more then welcome to comment) I will start hypo on Saturday. (Prophylactic) Blue purchased on Thursday yellow belly on Friday.
I will keep the yellow belly and give the other to a friend.
I will feed food enriched with garlic and Zoecon. They will stay in QT for six weeks. After the sixth week I will bring salinity up and introduce the yellow into my DT. I feel confident my DT does not have ick. If Ick does appear it will have had to come from my DT and I will stand corrected that a low-grade ick can in fact inhabit ones DT
Note my blue was very shy when introduced to my QT. Would retreat into my artificial coral at any sign of movement from me. As soon as his big brother was introduced he is active and not shy at all

I agree with you and it is odd that there is so much disagreement on this subject. I hope you can do your part in clearing up the ich and the confusion...or prove yourself wrong and also clear up the confusion.
And the fish are absolutely beautiful! Subscribed
