The hardiness of a Ric's? Help Please

I recently got a blue Rics polyp and was just attempting to stick the small piece of rock it came on to a larger rock using that tacky coral cement. The Rics started to get slimy and is smaller than usual because of prob the way I was handling it. I am really hoping I didn't crush it at all trying to attach it. Suggestions, past experience anyone? The one side looks a little crushed, is that bad? I was trying as best as possible to attach it not using pressure on the polyp. Will this die or is it hardy?

Well don't know if i can be a whole lot of help. I have florida rics and the orange one when i bought it, it was attached to a very tiny piece of rubble. The ric at the time was very very tiny too. As it grew i knew i had to move it to a bigger piece of rock, so all i did was take the piece of rubble it was attached to and moved it to a larger rock and positioned it there till it started to get larger and move over on the bigger rock, now it is the size of my hand and is in my 3 gal pico tank. I also have a purple ric that i bought it has 3 heads and came mounted again on some rubble, it was placed on a larger piece of rock that i could push it into a crevice for stability. Now it has covered almost half of the new rock. This took just about a year to do.
So back to your question, you have cemented that rubble its on to a larger piece of rock, i would leave it alone now. Its not happy with you but it will be just fine. If it comes unglued try and just wedge the rubble its on inbetween some bigger rock and leave it there. It will in time attach to the bigger piece of rock.
I have read that sometimes rics do not like to be fragged and they sure don't like to be glued either. They are best to be placed somewhere and let them attach themselves.
Here is a pic of my little tank, and on the right side the orange ric is the size of my hand. When I bought it it was the size of a dime.
Hope this helps

I never knew they grew so big. Holy crap. Well luckily I placed it on a large rock and it is up high so hopefully it will be happy there. Time will tell. Thank you.

They slime up like that when stressed, but should ultimately recover fine.
