The Malaysian Flight 370 Scooby-Do super thread!

There are some smart people on here (yes, I was being serious). So everyone put on your thinkin' caps, and lets figure out where the heck this missing jet is!

The good money says it's more than likely on the bottom of the Indian Ocean, or Bay of Bengal. But what fun is that?!? I want to hear some of your off-the-wall, outside-the-box theories!

What we do know, is that the plane left Malaysia for Beijing, diverted to the west about an hour into the flight, and was last pinged on radar heading west over Thailand towards the Indian Ocean. We also now know that eight hours after the flight took off, a satellite pinged the plane, meaning almost with certainty, that the plane still had power (wasn't in the bottom of the ocean just yet). This also means the plane could be in the Ocean, as well as a number of both friendly and not so friendly countries (including Pakistan, Burma, Thailand, India, Afghanistan, etc).

So Scooby, who do you think did it, and where oh where is this plane?!?

My two theories are as follows:
1. The plane was hijacked by some people who were very well versed in the tracking devices on a 777. Although that's really not that far fetched of an idea, what with all of the available information on the internet. They probably told the pilots to start on the regular route, and once they took the plane over, they turned off as much of the tracking devices that they knew how. It was at this point the plane started heading west towards wherever it was they were ultimately trying to end up. My guess would be somewhere in the middle east. I think after the pilots figured out what was going on, and that the hijacking was going to cost them, or many others their lives, they ditched the plane somewhere in the ocean between Thailand and mainland India. That would explain why the plane went from 5,000 feet to 46,000 feet to 23,000 feet in a very short time period. I'm guessing this was when some sort of struggle ensued before the plane went down.

2. Based on the fact they now say the plane pinged a satellite signal almost eight hours after take off, you would have to assume it either landed somewhere, or ditched into the ocean (similar to the Hudson river flight). If you go this route, you have to look at the only country in my mind that is anti-west, and wouldn't have a problem harboring a hijacked plane. And that is Myanmar. They couldn't fly over Indian, Pakistani, or Chinese airspace without being detected, so that limits greatly where they could have landed. The other possibility would be Bangladesh, but that's much less likely than Myanmar (Burma). If this is in fact the case, then they took it there for illicit reasons, and have not yet been caught. Or, they were caught by the US, or Interpol, or whoever, and they are keeping it hush hush until they figure out the "who, what, and why?"

I have no opinion. I only know this wouldn't be a problem if this guy still lived. He could tell us where the plane is.

Theory 1:

Hijackers took over the plane that had vast training flying that equipment. When the plane was at 46,000, turned off the cabin pressure and disabled the oxygen masks. All the passengers would freeze and suffocate like Payne Stewart did in his private jet. Dropped down to 5,000 feet to avoid radar detection, and landed on some remote island where Al Qaeda operatives built a long enough runway to accommodate the plane. Currently retro-fitting the plane with a nuclear device and with attempt to perform a Kamikaze run on Alaska, using Wasilla as their focal point to at least do the Americans one favor.

Theory 2:

Al Qaeda operatives were able to successfully board the plane with new undetectable weapons (3-D printed firearms and liquid explosives in toothpaste). Threatened flight crew with detonation and forced them to divert the plane in another direction to a locale where they could explode whatever liquid explosives they had, and insure that the remains of the plane could never be found so experts could never determine how they were able to successfully take down a huge airliner. If the plane is never found, they can plan another 9/11 using the same technology.

My guess is that the plane was hacked and probably crashed into the ocean. Not all that dissimilar from an episode of 5.0 that I caught on t.v. a few weeks ago where the perp hacked the flight controls of a plane with his iPhone and crashed it into the ocean.
