hey guys
I live in Virginia and we got hit by a big snow storm which left about 10" of snow at my house this past weekend. The power went out friday night and didnt come back on till sunday morning. I didnt have a generator
to save my aquarium but I went old fashioned way to keep it alive.
I have a wood burning stove in my basement and I kept it burning all day saturday and all night long. thank goodness I had lots of cut up firewood.
I noticed the temp in my aquarium was 66 degrees when I woke up saturday morning not noticing the power was out. (my temp usually reads 76 - 79) I freaked and immediately checked my 55 gallon aquarium. Everything was still alive luckly. I got the wood burning stove hot and pumped water from my aquarium into a big 3 gallon pot and placed it on the stove and warmed up the water till it got 80 degrees and released it into the aquarium. I made probably 40 trips from my aquarium to the stove heating water all day in order to keep my critters alive. So I got er done!!!
I will go tomorrow and buy a small back up generator bec that was a major pain. everybody is happy now since the power is back on!
just wanted to share my success story with you all
