I bought one and have had it set up since Fri. It is very loud and have called the company and they should have sent it out today.
So far the skimmer has proved very insoficiant. Because it creates to many micro bubbles I have to keep the flow regulator at "off". This causes it to still function but it does not collect anything.
If I were to turn up the flow I would have micro bubbles and if I turn it up the slightest bit to far it extracts pure water.
*My question is should I return it or see what happens in the next few days?

Do you use any water conditioners, these products tend to create those micro bubbles.

adam: It took mine about 3 days to start to work and the secret to the whole thing is the water flow control must be almost completely closed (just open it a hair). Once that is done it will start to collect if there is something to collect, believe me it works like a charm. The flow control trick I learned from my lfs who had set one up and showed me how they set the flow and theirs worked great, so I did it to mine and it works great now. In 4 days mine fills almost half full of nice green gunk.
