the real beef on macroalgae

all of my freshwater tanks are filled with plants. this has always been beneficial. well, i have added 6 different types of large beautiful macroalgaes to my 50 corner tank. what are the benefits of macroalgae? is it similar to the benefits of plants in a fresh water tank or could i be hurting my tank by adding adding so much?

There are many advantages to having these present. Certain fish,like tangs,thrive on it. It also adds to water quality by airation and filtering. But dont let it get out of control. It will take over your tank. Prune it regularly and you should be ok. GOOD LUCK STEVE
