That first pic looks like my stand for my 125. I started a month ago and got side tracked on other projects.
Are you building a steel tubing frame for the tank to set on and then putting wood around that?
Just curious, because I built a frame out of 1.5" steel tubing and am building a wooden frame around it and extending it out 2 ft on one end to give more room for the fuge.

Yeah, your diary has been started. It's down hill for your wallet here on out.
My husband had had the same thoughts you do, have to have new tools to do the job. Hey, some of your pictures look pretty familiar, I've seen that tubing and posts cut like that somewhere..........
. All I can say is once you get done with it you will be able to park your truck on it, VERY STURDY!

Great project....One idea to consider, I would seal all the wood surfaces and joints with sometype of waterbased sealer. Pretty amazing how much a joint can swell up over time and cause a stand to warp or rot...

I'm going to have to show my husband this thread, it looks a lot like the stand he built. Great looking piece of furniture!

The entire inside of our stand is melamine except for the support posts, which are painted white and sealed, and then the doors. I think my husband is going to take off the doors and add another coat on the inside, as the doors right next to the sump gets salt splash on them.
