The waiting game

Hi guys, Im new to marine tanks i have been a fish fan my whole life with freshwater fish/ invertebrates, and plants. I wanted something more challenging and more nice and elegant looking. So i decided to start a salt water tank.
I currently have a 33gal tank (FOWLR), i use filtered real salt water from local marine institutions. I started my tank a week ago and have a variety of rock in it including live rock to start my nitrogen cycle. Im currently waiting for my ammonia spike to happen ( which is extremely hard) So far my live rocks have lots of life happening on them and are starting to make their ways on to dry rock in the tank. i still haven't gotten my ammonia spike yet and its been a week. I have 4 Mollies in my tank to help make ammonia levels higher along with a blue legged hermit crab. I have my ammonia, nitite, nitrate, and ph kit so far my ph level is good (8.1) my ammonia levels are only 0.5 , and i have no nitrite or nitrates. I understand you have to wait for ammonia to get very high at a certain point in the cycling process and then you will begine getting nitrites, then nitrates. I know before i put a fish in like a clown fish my water has to be 0 ammonia,0 nitrites, and low nitrates. When does this accumilate? ive heard it takes between 2-4 weeks. How do you know if the cycle has become done to its peak? does all the rocks have to be covered with live matter before i put fish in?

Your cycle has begun. Ammonia levels of 0.5 are good. You really don't want it to go any higher IMO. Look for nitrite to show up in the next week. Ammonia will eventually go to zero and then nitrite and nitrates will rise. When ammonia and nitrite are at zero, your cycle is complete and ready for a good water change.

Your ammonia may not spike much higher since you are using live rock.
Looks like you've been doing your homework and are well on your way to a great tank! Welcome to the boards!
