Thermos Trade registration

Alrighty looks like alot of people are interested in the trade. Some rules should be:1. don't skimp out on the frags you are shipping out. make them a good size and take care of a fellow reefer.
2. corals should be attached to some type of substrate (LR rubble, shell, or plug).
Before an offical entry
will be placed on the boards, each member who wishes to participate should PM me with frag type, quantity (polyp count, length, ect.) shipping address, name, and e-mail address, and picture of frag if possible
only after you do this will you be officially registered in the trade. (please to make things as simple for me as possible, only one frag per member) thanks!
I think a set shipping date of Aug. 28 will work. With a deadline of August 21 to register. This will allow for as many people to enter as possible and will avoid some of the heat July likes to offer. After the registration deadline I will send out your trading partners information.
If you have any shipping questions I highly recommend checking out post 74 by ReefforBrains here.
I look forward to a big turnout and can't wait to see what everyone has to bring to the table.

I think we should do at least 3 coral's, that way the cost of styro box, shipping, etc would be worth while.
wouldnt the shipping and styro box cost more than the frag? maybe i am missing something?
let me know...thanks!

yea, im in if we do a whole frag pack. it just aint worth it to ship a few zoas and get the same in return.
i know i can send out at least 5 different things, from shrooms to zoas to acros.

some people only have one thing to trade. everyone should be able to participate, they just need paired up correctly.

I have always found that shipping costs for a coral that is common is not cost effective. Overnight + cox + time for a coral that would retail for $20-30 does not make sense. Am I wrong?

it isnt worth it also if people are still sending out things like star polyps. i mean im not bashing people who like them, but you can pretty much find them anywhere. and i know for a fact some people, including myself, dont want them anywhere near my tank.

now that im thinkg about this, maybe we should have a high end trade, and a low end trade.
in the high end trade, people can send things like acros, blastos, rare or more hard to find zoas.
and in the low end trade, people can trade things like shrooms, zoas, leathers, star polyps.
if you guys like this idea, lmk and ill put together the high end registration. somebody else can take over the low end.

I think everyone is makeing things alittle complicated with the high end and low end. If someone offers a highend frag pack then I would do my best to match them with a high end frag pack as well. AS for the one item for trade, we can scratch that for lets say 3 frags. So you all offer 3 frags and you will recieve three frags in return.
to those who have pm me I am asking that you resend your information with 3 frags listed. thanks. This is my first attempt at organizing anything like this so bare with me.

Would you send a plastic bag full of water in the MAIL?

I have 2 heads of neon green and purple tipped frogspawn to send. I can also send a rock with 2 rics and 15 + green mouthed button polyps. I also have a baseball sized rock with 40+ polyps GSP, a cabbage coral that is rapidly growing with about 4 polyps of yellow mouthed brown skirted zoas I would submit. Let me know who, where, and what.
GREAT IDEA by the way.

i always thought part of this hobby was helping other people out. where i live, i can't find any acros or other decent corals. that is why I suggested the thermos trade. i know that trading sometimes doesn't work out perfect for everyone involved, but y'all are sounding a bit greedy. "i don't want to trade my stuff for his stuff because my stuff is better." i thought we left the sandbox humor behind. i completely understand having more than one item per thermos, but the other stuff is a bit childish.
Sorry to ruffle feathers. Flame me if you want
