thick green algae on curing LR

ive got some LR & BR curing in my basement and it has that really thick green algae all over it, i dont want to introduce it into my tank, and scrubbing it with a toothbrush doesnt really take it off. any ideas? thanks.

BTW its not coralline,its that slimy green stuff that you have to scrape off the glass because a mag float wont remove it.

If you are curing the rock there is no need for lights. Put it in the dark. Make sure there is good circulation and that you do water changes, at which time you remove anything you can from the rock and swish it around good.
It's called "cooking" the rock and should work well to get you where you want to be. Running a skimmer is also good if you have one. So circulation heater and skimmer, no lights, water changes, rock cleaning.

there is no light over the curing tank, but light does come in the windows of the basement. ill see if i can move it into a darker area. there is a powerhead in the tank, and im going water changes every 3 days and scrubbing the rocks. i have 3 extra skimmers, so ill toss one of those on there.

stick a towel over it, to block out the light, and just scrub the heck out of it, get a harder brush.
