They're very neat. I seen the site with these a while ago as well. They are almost unreal.. and actually make you wanna say 'they gotta be fake'.

They were not washed up by the Tsunami. They are deep sea animals collected on a research expedition, but turned into "urban legend" shortly after the tsunami. Much like those wicked storms that people said were "Katrina rolling in."

It is a longnose Chimaera.
And you are right that it looks like a combination of stuff (and that it is related to sharks!). The definition of the word "chimaera:"
Chimera: (Greek mythology) fire-breathing female monster with a lion's head and a goat's body and a serpent's tail
chimera: a grotesque product of the imagination
And also apparently:
The Imperial Star Destroyer Chimaera was a starship in the fictional Star Wars universe. Even though the ship was at Endor, the vessel has not been explicitly named in any of the movies. It was first encountered in the Timothy Zahn book Heir to the Empire.

This winner washed up in Buffalo Bayou after Hurricane Rita hit Houston. The SPCA worked in conjunction with the Humane Society to rehabilitate her in the hopes of releasing her back into the wild. She refuses to go back, however, and now Extreme Makeover is doing everything in their power to surgically alter her body and give her the appearance of having a human torso, so she can pursue a loving and commited relationship with another transspecies humantype.

Yes, It was the chosen Flagship of the Admiral Thrawn. An Alien which is odd for empirial commanders to be alien and attain the status admiral. He chose the ship as it's name implied an odd creature as he was. He was the greatest threat to the rebel alliance after emporeor palpatine was killed. He almost single handedly won the galaxy back to the Empire through his sheer cunning and tactical genius. Mostly due to his understanding of different races by studying their art. Fortunantely he was assasinated by his own bodyguard and thus saved the galaxy from the Evil Empire.
I have just shown my geek side to much.............yes, I read all five books dealing with Thrawn and the Chimaera.
