Thinking about a horse

I am a pretty experienced reef keeper and keep a very good tank. All water parameters are good. For tank mate I have a bunch of corals no sea anemone, 2 clowns black and white ocellaris, a purple fire fish, and 2 small gobies 1". It is a 46 gallon bow front and I am thinking about 1-2 horses and/or 1-2 pipefish. I have ton of mysid shrimp, amphipods, and copepods. I will also do supplimental feeding of enriched brine, mysid, blood worms, and ocean plankton. My questions is I have 2 maxi-jet 900's and about 350 gph pump on the tank. Do you guys think that is too much flow. Also any other suggestions would be great. I also have a well established tank almost 2 years with a refugium.

tank sounds great. but make sure the corals don't sting. even if there not anemones.
the flow doesn't sound too much, but look at it this way, put your hand in there and pretend your hand is a weak little seahorse, will you be able to hunt without working extremely hard against the current? you want some flow for the corals and the horses want to play in flow but not too much.

Thanks. No stinging corals paly's, zoo's, SPS, and some acans. Flow should be good. Most of it is derected to reflect off of the glass. I was just worried that it would be all together too much water movement.

i would think that the flow to keep sps's would be to much for a sea horse..just my thoughts
I agree, although my horse seems to like the current from my whisper 40, with SPS it might be too much. And also, don't acans have stinging tentacles. And i have no idea if SPS can hurt horses. Now we have a SH keeper in Syracuse, Rochester, and possibly Buffalo! BTW, if your coming out to Rochester, or even going to the reef shop, Caribbean forest, or marine oasis let me know and i'd love to meet you and trade for,(or maybe buy) some frags. (especially Palys, zoos or lps)
I'm surprised how many SWF keepers there are in our little ice cube.

I have been thinking of making the trip out to Rochester many times. Shoot me an e-mail and I will send you what I have for sale/trade and maybe we can meet up some time in the near future. My e-mail is mscarpena@msn.com.

The only SPS I have are a few monti's. My tank is mostly paly's, zoo's and acans. Acans do have sweeper tenticles, but I don't think I would consider them stinging tenticles. What do you guys think?? All corals will battle and fight for space. Actaully my encrusting monti won a battle over one of my aussia acans and killed a few heads on it. I figured the acan would stop the monti from spreading, but I was wrong. The last thing I want to do is get something and just have it die. So keep these reponses coming. I have too many amphipods, copepods, and mysid shrimp and I am looking for something cool to reduce the population of these critters. These kritters are bothering some of my corals. I have always wanted a sea horse as well. I know what you are all thinking add a mandarin or a wrasse. I have a mandarin in each tank. Also in my 75 gallon I have a CB butterfly and a radiant wrasse. Almost all of my flow is directed at the glass also there is a lot of rock work and corals to deflect the flow. Also the 2 powerheads are on a wave maker on for 2 minutes, off for 2 minutes, then they stager with each other.

i have the filter and a 212 powersweep and they only have 112gph , i think, but it sends them for a ride every now and then

IDK, for some reason acan + SH = red flag to me. Also remember SH's swim with little tiny fins and aren't very strong or fast. They might even have trouble chasing down food in a tank with lots of flow.
