I am currently running an Eclipse 12 and have really been thinking about attaching a hang-on skimmer. What I want to do is get an aqua-fuge, attach it to the back of my tank, and then hang a skimmer onto that. I am not sure if this would work or not, but any ideas would be welcome. Any ideas on good and small skimmers would also be helpfull. If this sounds really stupid just tell me. I was just thinking of how I could keep my nano more stable.

My tank is a little larger (20g), but I just put a Prizm HOB on mine, and it has worked great. It is the only mechanical filtration I have. I do a waterchange maybe twice a month, and have had no problems at all. I went skimmerless for about 8 months and did a water change about every other week and had no problems as well.

how about a CPR bak-pak skimmer?? not sure if putting a hang on fug then adding flow through a skimmer would be that beneficial. you would have a higher flow rate then must refugiums would desire. Otherwise I would think it would work but I like the idea of a CPR bak-pak

Here'a couple of shots of what I did recently. This is on the back of a 10 gallon. I used a SeaClone 100 but a CPR BakPak would be real sweet.
