thinking about ordering LR

hey all, I read that if you put more LR in the tank it will cause it to cycle again........I have been thinking about ordering the 50 LB LR package off of here.........would that much LR at once make it cycle again? and has anyone ordered the LR from here? if so what kind of condition was it in? Big pieces? Little pieces? or some of both?

can't help with size or qualtiy, but can say that i know of many who ordered form here and have said many good htings about the rock
now i can help with the cycling, 50 lbs at once probably will at least cause a minni cycle, but i would set up a tank or something to cure it in by itself, being mail order there will be some die off but how much is the question, plus youcan use it for a holding tank, til you get it into the tank
and then add it slowly, 10 or so lbs at a time until finished, jsut to be safe

on this subject, if you set up a small tank or rubbermaid or whatever to cure new live rock, what all would you need in that container? water, (duh) a heater, these things I can figure out, but would you also need a filter? some of the other stuff like a skimmer? powerhead? live rock seems so attractive, but if you have to replicate your whole tank to just get started it seems so expensive. many thanks.

on liverock that you order from this site does little critters come with it like snaile, crabs sponges ect ect? and for a 20 gallon salt tank is 20 lbs of live rock good enough?

I ordered my LR from this site. It came in great shape. Some big pieces and some smaller. I got the 50 lb package. It did not come with any interesting stuff...just the LR.
I ordered it to cycle with the tank and it did just fine. We started with a 55 gallon 3 months ago. We recently picked up a 105 gallon Oceanic with a stand, canopy, RIO 2100 and lighting at a great price and are in the process of setting it up. My next order of LR will be place monday with Jeff's exotic fish. Getting 88 lbs of premium fiji for $2.75/lb plus shipping. It looks great in the pictures...will let you know how it turns out. We again will let it cycle with the tank. We occasionally pick up a piece at the LFS if it has the shape we are looking for.
The last piece I bought was loaded with mushrooms and in a sale tank for $5.99/lb...pretty rock!
I also picked some up at the LFS one saturday afternoon as a guy was bringing it in to sell to the store....tearing down his tank to move.
