Thinking about thinning out my CHAETO!

I have so much in my HOB fuge,,it is so dense and compacted tightly im thinking about trimming it, How much do people trim at a time where it will not shock it to bad where it might disapear? ALSO are people worried about PH fluxes? TIA!

i trim it back on every water change pretty much. thats how you export your nitrates, by removing chaeto and allowing more to grow

Mine is always needing thining too. Mine is now the size ball as a 5 gallon bucket. My fish do not seem to like it so out it goes
