What type of clam would you recommend for a first one? Im thinking of getting one. My LFS has a few up for grabs. I have 300w 14k MH on my 46 gallon bow so im assuming lighting isnt an issue.
go for a crocea, maxima, squamosa, or derasa. there all the same care level imo. as long as your water quality is good you shouldn't have any problems.
and your lighting is fine for any of those, just try to get the clam at least 2 1/2"- 3"
