Thinking of Upgrading!

I currently have a 46 gallon bowfront tank. I know this is way to small for some fish that I would LOVE to have such as tangs, large angels, etc. I found some reasonable deals for some new tanks in my area. I could either get a 90g rectangle tank or a 125g rectangle. This is the way I figure it. If I get the 90g, I could get it set up faster and have more money left for the supplies/ livestock. If I get the 125, I could get more stuff, but would take considerably longer to set up, and harder to maintain. I'm leaning more towards the 90g, but I don't know if my floor needs support. If I get the 90g, what supplies would I need for a reef? I know the basics, but would I need a Ca reactor or a kalkwasser mixer? Input is much welcomed!

i'd go with the 125g(6' version) if u want tangs and large angels....90g is only good for one tang that's not an open swimmer...maintenice is about the same...only difference i see is the water change volume..CA reactor is totally up to u if dosing becomes a pain in the arse..this is a hobby of patience so i see no problem in taking ur time to get all the right equipment from the get go..

sounds good, then. My only worry is that the floor might not be sturdy enough =... and hopefully I get enough money for my birthday so that I can get the 125...lol my parents are NOT going to be happy about a 125g tank in my room =P but if I get enough money, I'll go with the 125.

Also kept in mind, even a 125 will limit your choices of tangs and large angels. You can keep ones that will outgrow the 125, for a bit, but you'll need to have somewhere planned for them to go.

Well, as far as weight.
If you get the corrisponding base you should be fine.
Im having the same thoughts myself since Im planing to move home into a Manufactured home. Ill be setting up a 150g tank there. As long as Im sencible... (ROFL!) it will be fine!.
Always go with the biggest tank you can.
It takes longer to setup, but that also means that you have some cash flowing in during the process.
The thing is, as soon as you go over 100g you really need to consider Skimmers, Sumps, Fuges and so on. Unless you get a really sweet filter!.
I have a Magnum 350 (rated for a 100g tank) running my 60g. That works fine. Ill get a second one perhaps when I get my 150... Or Ill do the old Fuge method....

I don't plan on keeping anything huge in the tank that I know I will not be able to keep. The tank that I get will already have 2 overflows in it, and my LFS has some good skimmers as well as a sump with built in fuge.
