Attachment 200466I just came in to check out my serpent star and notice theres a big hole on the top of my star
I can see inside of it.Its still moving around,so its not dead, yet.Does anyone know what this might be?Oh no......As i woke up this morning to a cloudy tank,I turned on the lights to find my Peppermint shrimp dead,my goby is gone(did find a piece of meat in tank),one of my bigger sand fleas is dead, and the hole on my serpent is larger.Waiting for lfs to open to go get r/o water for about 3-4 gall water change,I'm so mad i almost want to cry thinking my tank is possibly crashing before my eyes.....I dont have any test kits,so I have to get that info from them.Other than red algea on alot of stuff,Zoas and everything else look fine.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What is the reading? Stars and other inverts like it kind of high. It should be 35 ppt.

Yep, need COMPLETE parameters. Specific gravity ideally should be 1.025-1.026. If higher, it should be brough down SLOWLY.
However these injuries are often feeding related and are not uncommon. So long as it is not losing arms, I actually am not immediately worried. Definitely feed it. If otherwise it behaves normally it may be OK, but do watch your parameters.

What is your specific gravity? Temperature? Alkalinity and Calcium?
I would probably be more worried about the 30 to be honest, than 36. However it is a big increase - i hope over time and not suddenly.
