Someone please provide me with any helpful info.
When I first got my anemone, he ate every time I fed it. I would feed it small pieces of shrimp or silversides.
However, now, he is healthier than it has ever been. It's extending it's tentacles very far out and just looks very nice. However, it NEVER eats when I feed it anymore. I don't think it's eaten anything I've fed it in over 2 -3 months.
I have a 29 gallon tank
Live Rock
Cleaner Shrimp
Yellow Watchman Goby
A purple fish (small) that I forgot the name of
A Green Bubble Coral
Emerald Crab
2 False Percs (both bonded to the anemone)
Anyone have any clues how it is so healthy though having not eaten from me in nearly 3 months?

I dont know what it is called but, it is sort of a pinkish red stalk that comes up about 5" and then it has long tentacles that come off everywhere. The tentacles are pinkish with a purple tip on the ends of them.

Because hopefully its getting its nuriousment from the zooxanthellae that lives within it. There have been periods where I also have not had to feed my BTA's for 2 months.

Sounds like either a Condy or a type of Long Tentacle. If it looks healthy then i wouldnt really worry about it
. Unless of course you have been missing a fish here and there for the past few months :happyfish

I just looked up the Condy anemone's and it's not that I dont think. I'll take a pic tonight and get it on here and see what you think it is.

take a look at the pink tipped haitian anemone on this site. Does it look like that? Being that the clowns are hosting it sounds like a long tentacle because haitians and condys usually dont but they have been known to host before.

No not really, I do feed mine about once a month or so, these guys need good calcium and alkalinity levels to help build their skeletons, that and strong light.

Mine has loved Silversides until he hasn't eaten much lately, but he also likes shrimp pieces.

Question: I have frozen cyclopeeze and would love to give him a shot of that. How do you go about it though? I mean I know you probably use a turkey baster but, do you just put it in the tank, or do you put it right at the mouth and squirt? Do you need to wait until the mouth is open? mine opens it mouth sometimes and closes it completely at others.

I use plastic drinking cups. I though a cube of mysis shrimp in a bit of tank water as well as using the frozen cyclopeeze, then I just mix it up using the turkey baster and gently squeeze some into the tentacles, if necessary turn a power head off so it doesn't blow away.
