this is on my rock is it good or bad?

ok i have some rock and i want to know what's good and what's not
i have a brown..almost grass growing in a few places
i have a brown fuzz on one of the rocks
i have some things that look like little stems
i have a brown mass about 1/2 inch thick and about 1.5 inches long
that's about it...mostly brown growth..when i bought the rock the LFS said it was ....almost cured.... it's been in my tank for about 5-7 days ago and it's filtering with my tank
the amonia has been rising alot and i think everythings going good
anyone know what's on my rock from what's listed above? i'll give more info if i can and i'll get a camera once this snow clears

Sounds like different forms of hair algae... maybe even diatoms. The stems could be little dusters or just another kind of algae. These are all guesses.... try and get a picture up.
