Is this Satellite 96 watt ok for a 40-50 gallon reef tank? I plan to put in fish, coral and anemome...
Also anything better than the Prizm Deluxe for the money to use as a protein skimmer?
Thanks
EDIT: Ok did some reasearch. I'm going to need double that at least it seems like. Would a dual 96 watt power compact light work? They run about $210....

if you get the duals on a 40 you'll be pulling around 5 watts per gal,...some anenomes are okay and sofies,...nothing hardy.

Any examples of what kind of SPS isn't ok?
Also I thought PC tubes were suppose to be a few times more powerful than an equivalent NO or VHO tube? Or it doesn't matter since it's not a MH?

You really don't have enough power for any SPS corals. You may get away with a condi or a BTA, but that is about it for anemones. IMO, you'd be better off going with MH from the getgo and that way you don't have to upgrade in the future.
