Maybe its a phobia but I can't stand to look or touch starfish. They like skeeve me out for lack of a better word. My kids want me to get a star but I can't. Is there medication for this? LOL

LOL, You might need to see a shrink. I would just get one, remember that it can't hurt you, and eventually you will get used to it.

I don't think there is any medicine. But you could ask.

A choc. star (not reef safe) is fun in our tank. Here he is up close, you can use this for aversion therapy. :D

I'm new to SW and I do get a little freaked out by some of the creatures that hitchhiked with my LR.
I have a pod (or snail) of some sort (harmless), some brittle stars (kind of freak me out with their arms sticking out of the rocks), a peanut worm (haven't seem him yet, only his waste, but reports on this board indicate that first sight of one can be frightening) and a crab (I've only seen it's legs as it lives in caves in the LR).
The crab freaks me out just thinking about it. If he'd come out more, perhaps I'd get used to him. But then I have my little children and wife to worry about. I think they'll be really freaked out.
I guess it just takes getting used to.

So do eels freak you guys out? I showed a girl the snowflake in my tank and she just freaked out and had to leave the room. I know a few people who hate snakes and they can't stand looking at eels either. I on the other hand love them.

I agree, starfish are a little creepy...
but, i find eels to be VERY creepy.... YIKES! i bought my room mate one for his birthday and couldn't look at it... had to have the fish store people put it in a brown bag so i couldn't see it, then have a friend carry it out of the store...
the fish tank was in my room, close to my bed.. one night it got out, i heard it hit on the floor adn then heard it crawl over some papers that crinkled... i didnt' know what it was, so i looked down and saw it crawlign toward me in the middle of the night...
i still have nightmares about it...
