I also posted this in the coral trading forum but decide to post it here for better viewing.
I'm curious if any of you guys who are having success with Xenia growing, if you also have refugiums? I'm asking because I do have 3 stalks growing but noy very quickly like I hear others stating. I am thinking that maybe since macro algae takes nitrates out of the water and Xenia also takes nitrates out of the water that maybe the Xenia and macroalgae are competing for the same nitrates?

i bought my bro a few stalk of xenia from a fellow saltwater menber ( sry i dont reamember your sn ) anyhoo they grow like weed and can take a good beating.. yes he have a fuge with a good bit of cheto and culpra ( sp? ) he also have a 400 mh and 220 watt of pc. the tank is currently unskimmed due it the pump crapping out afther 1.5 years of use. the tank has been unskimmed for about 1.5 months and i dont see any changes in it's growth. it just get moderate flow, monthly WC, and a squirt of phyto and micro-velt in the sump every week.. ohh and we top off with calk
