I currently buying a house and the new place has a perfect spot for my 125 reefer.. It is perfect because it is in a great viewing area AND the wall backs up onto the garage. In other words I plan on putting a whole through the wall and having the sumps and all the messy loud stuff in the garage. A while back somebody posted some pictures of such a design but can't remember where they are.
If anybody has done this I would like to know your experiences.

In the garage cool? Garages tend but tell uncooled. This is definitely a consideration. If everything is in the garage I feel like it will but awfully hot in the summer. As so may but cold in the summer. Something to think about.

It is summer now and it does nto seem as though the garage is any hotter than the rest of the house. I currently don't have a cooler but wouldn't mind getting one if it is needed.

Are you going to have cars in the garage? If so another thing to think about is carbon monoxide and other vapors getting into the tank. The best thing to do, would be to build a room around the tank on the back side and house all equipment. In the wall on the back side, place a window unit air conditioning, This will keep the room cool. In the winter, if insulated properly, your lights will help keep the room warm allowing your tank to stay warm. You will also keep out vapors and bugs from your tank area.
Good Luck

I have thought about building a room...there is plenty of space for one. That is a good idea with the ac unit. I hadn't thought of that. I planned on keeping all of the lighting ballasts in the gargage and the ac would help with that heat as well.
