Time Travel

I read an interesting article today. http://cosmos.asu.edu/publications/reviews/sci_am_2.pdf I don't expect you to read it, but if you're into this kind of thing, it's interesting. But it should be taken with a grain of salt. What do you guys think? Do you think time travel is possible? If you could control time and space, what would you do?

We know time travel isn't possible because nobody has traveled back in time to tell us about it.........

Can we also say the same thing about Heaven and Hell? Don't know of any dead people who've come back to prove that theory either...

I didnt read your link, but there are theories that "worm holes" exist. providing a shortcut from one point to another. What do we know? Another civilitation that is a million or billion light years ahead us may know how to use them and travel back and forth at will. Did you ever see the footage from one of the shuttle missions, where there is an object moving accross the sky (outer atmoshere) in one direction then there is a flash of light from the earth, the object takes evassive action, and moves faster and more agile than anything we have out of the way of the projectile. The offical response was it was "ice crystals". If Im correct, it was the last live transmission from a shuttle mission. Things that make u say hmmmm....

Abre los ojos.
1. That doesn't mean we can't travel into the future.
2. If multiple universes exist, we can travel into the past into one of them to avoid paradoxes (more of a sci-fi ploy than an actual suggestion).
3. If a time machine like the one discussed in the article existed, then we could not travel to a time before the time machine existed. Everything else is free game. Which means that we could hypothetically travel into the past, but for us the past is far into the future.

I have no idea if it could actually be done.
If I could control time and space....I would go back in time and tell myself to not do some of the really dumb things I have done in my life. However after the movie butterfly effect...I just might prefer to live life as it is.

Jesus
Lazuras
Tabbitha
A little boy Elijah prayed for...
And a slew of folks that sware they saw a great light when they died and were revived. Oh that's right...no amount of proof is ever enough in your case.

Plenty of people claim to have visited heaven or hell. Many people have also seen the loch ness monster, chupacabras, big foot, witches, demons, vampires, ghosts...
What does this have to do with time travel?

Only two people in history have ever been claimed to have been raised from the dead and they aren't available for comment.

How can you travel to a time period that hasn't occurred yet?

Wait...you don't believe in big foot???? But, but.................. I thought he could have been the missing link you were always looking for. JK....I don't believe in big foot...I think it was just a very dirty Yeti somebody spotted.
All kidding aside...this is a thread on a make believe thing so anything goes ...

It isn't technically a make believe thing. Google twin paradox, that's been proven and if you want to get technical that is time travel. But in any case, "anything goes" is more fun.

I'm sorry Pez....It sounds like you were really serious. I thought you were kidding, and just asking a kind of fantasy question on what we would do if....
As for actual time travel. I am a deeply religious person, so my point of view always stems from that point.
It's very hard to for me to explain on what I honestly think on the possibility, but here goes: I firmly believe that God created all things, and when we look at science we see the method he used. We call it physics or nature biology (whatever). People have been (teleported for lack of a better word) into the distance by Angels who have shown events that will be, and events past. So it would make logical sense to me that there is a way in physics and nature for the ability to be done, we just have not figured out how he does it yet...if we ever even get smart enough to discover such a thing before our days are over.
I also believe there are different planes of existence. We know heaven is not way up in the sky beyond the stars, That the Creator of all things does not reside on a distant planet, but rather it is a veil of something that seperates the levels that the book of Enoch spoke of. A spiritual world on many levels that exists among us unseen. Perhaps the ability to go from one point in existence to another could be found in that realm. Jesus was reported to be in one place on moment, and then appear in another, and to in a locked room without entering thru a door. He was not a spirit/vision because he had flesh and bones that could be touched.

That was an interesting read. I'm going to go stare at some pretty ladies on the internet and have a lager to get my head back here on earth
