ok some help please i have a 50gal tank and i have a wet dry filter the return pump is a rio 1100 ......i am adding in water everyday cause the pump i think pumps the water out to fast ....can someone let me know what is a good pump to ue or how to jugde the pump power i need

Unless your tank s leaking or overflowing...
You are adding water everyday due to EVAPORATION...
With a smallish sump it shows up fast and can cause cavitation problems...
Either need to increase "sump" size or addd ATO to keep it full..

You can also put another "U" tube in your overflow box, or use a larger diameter inlet hose to add more volume. But like the previous reply stated, it's mostly due to evaporation. I have to add about one gallon of water to my tanks every other day.

If it is just evaporation, which it probably is, just add an auto-top off. I had the same problem as you (adding water everyday) and I added my auto-top off and now all I do is fill up my 10 gallon freshwater reservoir when it gets a little low (once a week, if that).
