To Buy a Fragging kit, or not to buy a kit

So i haven't really had all that many corals to frag for the longest time, but my nuclear greens have grown and i decided to frag them apart. With that being said, do you think i should just use sisscors, razor blades, ect. from around the house (and sterilize them before and after of course) or spend the 40 bucks or however much it costs to buy one of the many kits you see online?
What are your thought and any personal experiences would be greatly appreciated

You can certainly use clean razor blades, screwdrivers and scissors. If you want to be a little more fancy then you can get a fragging kit. Or you can put one together yourself for a little cheaper but you don't get the nice case.

u can go to a surgical supply store and get one of those long bone cutter to reach into sps corals. it runs about $10-15 each. the frag plugs run about $5-10 depending on size and shape. and crazy glue is cheap at home depot.

Saltwater fish is big business...any way to make a buck, we fall for anything. Like johnr2604 said...you won't get the nice case.

my fragging kit are the wire cutters, dremel and needle nose pliers (or whatevers in my tool box). they arent dripping with oil or anything but I use rusty ones frequently after a quick wipe down. I guess I should deticate a few to just snapping corals. But no I'd never consider a kit. go to Lowes or Home depot's tool section.

I use a pair of dikes out of my tool box, a clean fresh razor blade each time, super glue gel, and fragging plugs.
I did however buy a fragging scissors. Do you really need a kit? No, but they are nice.
