To feed or not to feed?

I have had my 40 gal.tank up for about a month 2 months. I have a clown trigger, a tang, and 2 damsels. I usually feed them a cube of frozen shrimp a day. Is this enough food for them or do I need to give more? I don't want to overfeed, yet I don't want my fish to die either. Sometimes they seem hungry even after eating that one cube. My local fish store told me that 1 cube a day is enough. Any help greatly appreciated. My clown trigger sometimes looks lethargic, until he eats and then becomes lively again. This worries me.

Why do you have a tang in a 40?
and that's a lot of fish for a young tank. You MUST feed the tang green food daily, seaweed, they should sell it at the lfs, he won't live or be heathly for long on just meat. Are they eating all the food you put in? You might want to vary thier diet some too, would you like to eat the same thing every day?
I feed fish 6/7 days a week, once a day. Or I did, when I get my new fish I'll see what they like. Feeding half a cube twice a day might be better. I'll repeat, you need to feed the tang green food, once in awhile isn't enough, get a clip, stick it to rock or something. I don't know if the trigger needs any special food or not.
They are voracious algae eaters. [. . .] These fish are usually seen at reefs eating algae all day long.
