to much flow for my UV ?

i just got a UV for my 220G reef tank and my water pump is 1600 LPH , is this tu much , if so what ppump should i get . i manual said max is 1900 but this 1600 still is to fast and disruvte my sumo circulation and ideas for the LPH water pmump ? and my UV is a V2ecton 600 TMC 160US gal UV , i bought it from UK .

As you stated you read the manufacturer recommendations on water flow. If they listed a min and Mac flow through the unit your good....another alternative to running it on a separate pump would be to plumb it online with your main return pump if it meets the standards of the manufacturer of the UV.

I think that's way too much, not near enough exposure time.
Most UV's are run at 3-5 gph per watt. That V2ector 600 is I believe a 60 watt model, so you'd need a 180gph - 300gph through it. Or in lph, rough 680lph to 1135lph. 680lph is going to be your minimum.
Manufacture UV ratings are usually through the roof, because most UV aren't intended for saltwater applications.
