the only info i could find on keeping toadfish in a aquarium is that they need large aggressive tanks.

You could put one in a say 55 until it gets about 4 ish inches long. Depends on how big it is when you get it. I saw one only about an inch and a half and it stayed that small for about 6 months so??? The one i got was almost full grown at 6 inches long and mainly stayed in a cave (until it decided to swim up to get fed with the other fish??)

Hiya. Larger fish with the toadfish is best, but at the same time, as long as he is kept fed and happy, he wont pester the little ones, but its still a risk. Some of the best food for them, though you have to have good aim, is some sort of carnivore sinking pellets. I am not sure if can say brands or not but the one i use is for "massivores" and its good for fresh and salt fish. All the fish in the tank for crazy for this stuff. Anywho, my toady gets like 3 of the pellets every other night or so. The biggest thing for mine is to wait at night when he pokes his head out, then i gotta have good aim to make sure they land pretty close to him. He will usually just pluck them as they fall, but if he misses they land really close then he just snags them off of the floor. They can get huge, and once they get really, really big, i dont think too many fish other then other really big fish are safe. Anywho, i will say this, if you have a big enough tank with lots of hiding places, you might not see him for a few days, then he will pop up again, and then hide, and so on. Its actually quite funny.
