Toadstool Losing its color

Lately I have noticed that my toadstool and brown button polyps have been fading and become almost transparent (buttons only). My maintenance and feeding schedule has not changed in over a year and aside from these two corals nothing else in my tank seems to show any signs of stress. In fact other corals of the same variety are doing fine in my tank. I did a search and some of the listed problems seem impossible only because I have changed absolutely nothing. The only possibility I can think of is heat. Since I am at work for 11 hours a day the only time I see the temp is at night around 8pm and then it is high (82-84) but nothing the tank has not gone through over the last year and 7 months. A chiller is out of the question and I have fans running over the lights and water. Nothing is missing in my tank livestock wise and I do weekly water changes of 10%. Any suggestions?

This happened to me once, and my LFS said not to worry
about it if it's dying it will start to fall apart, and sure enough
it was all right after looking sad for 3 or 4 day's.So i hope
that it turns out just as good for you!

Concerning the toadstool; does it get that "film" on it? Try to direct a powerhead at it. Sometimes the film will blow off and help jump start the polyps. Hopefully they get better. Good luck.
Matt.

I meant to post that sorry. I have the toadstool just underneath a powerhead so it gets direct movement. I have never witnessed it "shed" in over a year so I cannot conclusively rule that out.
As for the polyps, they still open but not fully and still have that transparent look. No tissue erosion on either of them and both still extend their polyps.
For a week now I have dosed iodine to see if that will help them heal if indeed they need healing. I dose 5 ml once a week on Sunday so overdosing should not be an issue.
