toadstool mushroom splitting?

my toadstool looks like it is splitting. is this normal?

i just took these. my clown had to jump in the first pic. the second pic i stuck my hand in and touched it so it would pull in its tentacles by the split.

IMO it is splitting and they will do that. It saves you the time and effort of doing it and it will already be attached. After the split you can cut a piece of one of the tops off and attach that if you need some trading material giving you a 3 for 1 deal.
