So This guy has been in my 45 gal tank under T-5 lighting. I moved him yesterday to my new nano setup, under a metal halide... Now he is not looking so good. The little spikes used to be fully out, now they are not out at all, and haven't been for a while. Part of the coral are still pink and soft but the majority of the surface is hard and there is a film (sort of) coming off of him. Is he dying? Can I save him?? Please help...

He's a cool little dude.
They seem to slime every time they get moved. Maybe turkey baster him off after a few days to help him shed but he should be fine in a week. His shedding might be to protect himself from the MH during his transition.
If water spec is good and flow is good, then just be patient. He will be back to his old self soon enough.

I am concerned though. My new nano set up seems to be killing everything I put in it. It is cycled and has live rock and live sand. I know the tank is cycled because there is slight algae on the glass and there were diatoms...
If he is sliming, and that is normal... Why is he hard and why has he appeared to have lost most of his color?
