Toadstool Toxins

After purchasing a Toadstool I read that some can produce toxins that can be harmful to other reef inhabitants and corals.
Anyone ever have a Toadstool cause any problems ?

If you run a lot of leathers and want to keep SPS it "can" be an issue. Most people run carbon media so that the issue can be avoided.

Thanks
Got a little concerned and thought about returning it.
BTLDreef,I have no other leathers and most likely wont be getting any more.My tank mainly consists of Mushrooms, some Blue Xenia,Lobo,Brain,a few favia, zoas, and 1 acan.
So with the varity I have you don't believe there should be any issues?

ALL coral have "toxins" little darts they shoot at each other. Some are more aggressive than others, torch corals for example are more aggressive and you have to watch what is downstream.
Some corals only sting other coral if they touch.
Running carbon in the filter will take care of any chemical warfare. otherwise just watch placement.

Definitely not. Even if you do decide to do SPS, one or two leathers is not an issue and carbon will take care of any sort of toxin there might me that would hurt them.

Agreed. The only times I am aware of has been with heavy, heavy stocked reef tanks, that are 50/50 SPS and softies. However I still have not see actual proof that it was chemical warfare. Perhaps softies just use up a specific nutrient in the water we have no idea about, that SPS need.
Obviously from the above paragraph, I feel "chemical warfare" is grossly, and I mean grossly overhyped in this hobby. You can different anemones in the same tank, that was been proven true, and you can have decent amount of SPS and softies in the same tank.
All the corals you have listed sound great
