I've had my tomato clown for 5+ years now. When I first got him, he was very bright orange. It seems that when I added BTA (about 1 year ago) he got darker (it's like all of a sudden I noticed!) and he is now mostly black but sort of "outlined" bright orange. I wonder if it is chemical change due to the BTA?
I see a lot of tomatos in the LFS, but I do have a feeling that the others are more popular, if for no other reason than the number of white stripes making a flashier appearance? Not sure on that one, either.
Of course, I wouldn't trade mine for a little flash! Great personality! :happyfish

I purchased my clown as a cinnamon, but it has lost all its dark coloration. It now looks like a tomato clown only more orange, less red. I think almost all other clowns are more popular than a clown or a tomato. I couldn't ask for a better clown to put with a bta...my clown takes very good care of its bta.
