Tomini Tang Ich?? Need Help!

So I have had this tang for about 3 weeks in a QT and has seemed to be extremely healthy and been eating food great. Usually hides all the time but really havnt seen anything to hint that he had Ich...
After getting ready to transport him to my DT I noticed some small pumps on his back.
Not sure if it is Ich or not but from what I have seen before and from the posts here it seems like it to me.
Could use the help!

Take a close look at those spots with a magnifying glass. If they are flush against the body, and faded, then they are stress marks. If they are white, round, and raised then they are ich.

For more info...
- So far have only seen these bumps today
- Again he is in a 15g QT
- The QT has been up for about 1 month before he was added
- Has been eating New Life Spectrum Pellets, and tried red seaweed but didnt eat much
- Have had him for about 3 weeks
- Have not tried any treatments
- Last night did a minor water change to keep Ammonia down.
- This morning SG was at 1.017, Ammonia .1, Nitrite 0, Nitrate 0

so far I have done the proper steps in having the QT set up and it is already at a lower SG of 1.017.
Beth's instructions say to get it to 1.009 over 48 hours. Does that need to be consistent water changes like every hour?
Reason i ask is because I wont have 2 days free until sunday and I want to fix this Ick asap...!

You cannot lower the SG too quickly. If it is already at 1.017 then you can lower it over 36 hours or so. It is better to pull out water and then dribble the freshwater in all day rather than large changes. You don't have to have two full days free, just try to make the drop as gradual as possible.

I have followed Beths instructions on trying to get rid of Ick. I even started off with a short 3 minute freshwater bath for my Tomini.
It has been 2 days that the SG has been lowered to 1.009 and this morning the Ick looks even worse. More white pumps and even more raised.
Am I doing something wrong or is this expected in the process of getting rid of it?

i have been told that it is recommended to be put in for 5 minutes. Thought that was too long so only did like 2-3 minutes.

When can I kill ich?
Some ich can be killed while still on the fish with freshwater dips. The operative word here being only “some”. Freshwater dips will not cure ich . At best, it can be employed when a fish is so infected with parasitic cysts that serious consequence, such as eminent death, will likely occur if something is not done immediately.
Effective treatment, however, can not occur until the parasite has left the fish. Using hyposalinity as a treatment, the parasite is killed when the protozoa is in the tank, on a hard surface, during what would be the reproduction stage. The hypo-saline conditions kill the parasite at the tomont stage of the life cycle. In a copper treatment, the medication targets the infectious, free-swimming theront.
that is where i read it

That is what happens. A few days after the SG reaches 1.009 the ich try like heck to attach.

That is the correct amount of time. It is so very stressful on the fish though. It is best to use a FW dip only if the parasites are going to overcome the fish.
How is he doing now?

as of today it has been the worst I have seen it but the whole time the tang has been fine... eating healthy and swimming around fine. The white raised bumps have gotten even higher.
BUT! I have seen him spending more time out in the open than hiding behind his PVC connector

You will see them drop off soon. Keep up the great work! This is the hardest part of the treatment. Keep the tang healthy with quality foods dosed with vitamins.

spirulina algae tablets I have been feeding my hippo tang. Do they like the same? Walmart has it, but get the stuff WITHOUT the copper its the Hikari Algae wafer that is ok for saltwater. The cheaper brand I read has copper (read the ingredients on back).
Most tangs eat algae. Im new to this so take this as what I read/try and not as experience. Sepulatian knows this stuff. Sepul- is the Hikari algae tablet good?

For vitamins go with Vitachem and Zoecon.
Frozen or algae strips are better than tablet algae. Tablets are like feeding flakes and pellets. While they do have some nutrition, foods that haven't been processed and broken down are much better IMO.

vitaxhem is exactly what u have been supplementing him with.
He hasn't been eating any flake or frozen foods. Just pellets an very little seaweed.
I hope this idk goes say soon! I can't wait to have this active fish in my DT!
