TONY, MY IODINE LEVELS ARE AT O.OO2. AND I KNOW THAT OSW IS AT 0.006 WHAT ABOUT ADDING KENT MARINE IOIDINE TO THE WATER? AND WHAT ABOUT SKIMMING WILL THIS AFFECT THE IODINE LEVELS. WILL ALREADY BE SOAKING THE FOOD IN MARINE SELCON. ANY THING ELSE I CAN DO TO PREVENT MINERAL DEFICENCIES. WHAT DO YOU DO FOR YOUR SHARKS !

Do not worry about dosing Iodine. If you are feeding a varied diet and doing waterchanges it is not something you should worry about.
Skimming should not affect Iodine levels, but activated carbon will.
I feed my sharks table shrimp and squid, uncooked, that is all. Thaw and Soak them in selcon before feeding your sharks.

Temp 72 +/-1degree
What kind of shark do you have? Different sharks like different temps.

Sorry tony I dont mean to but in. But to ansure the ? the only time you should supplement with iodine is if the shark has a goiter. as for other benifits iodine has never been proven to do anything though some swear on it.

i have been reading that a shark that is introduced into an iodine-poor enviroment, it may take 6 to 16 months before goiter develops is this true? that was my father who posted the question for me. i want to ensure my sharks health. and tony the shark is a whitespotted bamboo 7 inches food is soaked in marine selcon, salt,1.024 temp75 all other tests are 0PPM, no metals, and ohm's meter reads 0. only 20 lbs of live rock in tank for him, and one fish clarks clown but have green star polops, and mushrooms growing on the live rock. lighting 96 watts 5050.

You should be ok as long as he has a varied/enriched diet.

I helped take care of one mans shark tank with 4 sharks of witch he had for 3 years and one eppolett shark developed a goiter. I agree with tony the best dfense is a well verried diet ( including guts, for the bactiria they provide). LOL
