Too many aiptasias

I am having no luck killing aiptasias with the kalkwasser injections. Has anybody ever tried hypo or hypersalinity to kill these things? There are just so many on a couple of the rocks, I thought a good dip might hurt the aiptasia but not bother the coraline.
Has anyone done this successfully?
Thanks.

Go to the LFS and buy some Liquid Calcium. Kent makes a good product IMO ... Get a syringe (sp?) for 10 cents at your grocery store and soak up some liquid calcium in the needle and inject it into the "stalk" of the aptasia or around the whole thing. It will basically melt right away. I had 5 of them and all of them but one died ... I plan to try and kill the other one tonight. HTH.

Forgot to tell ya ... Try and not break the aptasia with the needle ... This will just result in a HUGE breakout of them.
Good luck.

Mine have attatched themselves to the glass near the top of the tank.. Will nudibranches work cause I'm pretty sure the peppermint shrimp isnt gonna climb the class??

there is a nudibranch that will help but i do not recomend that because they only eat aiptasia and if there are none left they will starve and die. For the ones on your glass if there arent 2 many u can point a power head in their direction and wait 4 them 2 start movin then suck them up with a syringe.

I'll have to try that...but they are everywhere..I have one fake plant and they are all over it. I wanna take the plant out but I'm afraid they will just keep spreading. :notsure:

If you want 2 try that nudibranch u can set up another tank and grow aiptasia so it wont starve and die

Thanks Viet..What a good looking fellow.
Unfortuantly I can't use the salt method though cause the lr has a bunch of featherdusters on it as well as several clams.

Nope..plus I have 2-3 Coco worms living on the rock too and I really wouldn't want to disturb them.

There is a product called Joe's Juice that is suppose to work really well at killing them, I believe it is lemon based.
