Too many bubbles

I started adding some additives to my tank, since them I'm getting a lot of microbubbles and they are creating a foam on top of my water. Am I adding too much or what? Can anyone shed some light on the subject?

anything you add to the water will affect its chemistry. lets start by finding out what your adding and how much...

I'm adding calcium to keep the levels at 420, trace elements, strontium, and iodine. I use the recommended doses on the back of the bottle.

you might be adding too much stuff at once and its causing supplements to precipiate. Do you have a surface skimmer or overflow that can draw surface foam/film/whatever and spray it back under the surface?
Definitely turn off a skimmer (if you have one) for a few hours so that all the supplements dont just get sucked out.

No I don't have a surface skimmer, I'm pretty new to this whole keeping corals thing. So far I have got some zoo frags a couple monte's, a ricardia and zuma, an acro, and a birdsnest. Everything is doing good except for the acro and monte's whose polyps barley come out. I don't know when to add the supplements other than calcium, cause I test for it. Should I add a supplement one a day instead all at the same time? Am I supposed to keep my skimmer off when I add them?

i agree, unless you have a heavily stocked tank with large sized sps, weekly water changes should be more than enough. strontium, and iodine should definitely not be supplemented without a test kit. iodine toxicity is very easy to obtain when not extremely careful.

Damn, I wish I would've asked before I started putting stuff in
. I fell like a moron hopefully nothing is permanentley messed up, my protein skimmer has been working overtime taking a day to fill up. Should I add trace elements still?

its probably just a waste of money since you don't have enough stuff in there depleting the elements found in your salt mix.
