Too many Pods?

I have had trouble with hair algae for a few weeks now alluva sudden. It seems like I see pods all over non stop even in day time now. I even see groups on the glass. The kind thay I have 6 or 8 legs and body is just an oval. These arent the bad kind of amphipod right? they dont look scary and my clowns seem fine, but i seriously saw >200 on my front glass alone just now. I cant have too many right? Im guessing the increased habitat from hair algae is fueling abumper crop

I'm surprised your fish aren't eating them (or maybe they are). I used to have pods all over...then I put my two clowns in there and now I hardly see any.

Yea I was wondering about that. Right now i have 30-40 blue leg hermits, a few sally light foots and a pair of true percs. Right now I feed the tank a sanfran brand cube of HUFA brine, plankton, or mysis 3-4 times a week and dose my coral feeders once a week. Am I over feeding and causing this? This could be related ot my algae then too....

I would say you feeding too much. I feed just a shave off of a frozen block once or twice a week, flake food 3 to 4 times a week and phytoplankton 3 times a week. It is most likely contributing to your hair algea problem. wiht that many pods I'd tail off feeding.
a whole cube   man your clowns must love you!!
