Too Many Snails?

My tank just finished cycling and so I went down to my LFS and they set me up with 3 mexican turbo snails and 3 other small snails and 4 hermits. My question is are 3 Mexican turbo snails too much for a 12 gallon tank? The reason I ask is this website says 1 per 20 gallons.

I wouldn't have any mexican turbos in a 12 gallon .... they'll go through algae real quick and in a 12 gallon end up starving to death.

heck....when i first started this hobby, my lfs gave me 6 turbos for my 10!!!!
and right now i have a 20gallon long, and i have only lost 1 of them..if you have that many, and you see they are starting to look sickly or any signs of it....get some seaweed sheets and feed them, thats what i would feed my snails, they absolutely loved it.

I like to stick with cerith snails because they also eat some filmentous algae, and they wont normally eat themselves out of house and home. I also have some nassarius snails and some hermits to help clean the bottem

Thanks for the tip and I will keep the Seawood sheets in mind. They have alot of work to do so im not too worried about it now.
