too much current?

I have two perculas and a mandarin goby in my 65 gallon. The return from my sump is pumped into the right side of the tank and I have a powerhead left center pointing down and to the right. My perculas, of course, don't want to fight the current so they always hang out in the bottom left corner. When I turn the pumps off to feed the goby the percs swim all over the place havin' a good time. Should I readjust the current or slow it down somehow so that they can swim more freely the rest of the time?

How much water per hour is being circulated with the return and the powerhead?
My percs swim into the center area of the tank where two powerheads converge and play in the current all day. It may just be a matter of readjusting or repositioning the powerhead.

the main pump is a 640gph and the powerhead is 250gph. I used to have to powerheads in there but that just seemed like too much.

That is a lot of turnover for a 65 gal tank. Not that it is a bad thing, but you may want to use spraybars to disperse it. Your fish will thank you.
